Cornerstone I & II

About This Project

The Cornerstone buildings make a strong architectural statement when approached along Cottonwood Parkway, with a three-story glass lobby element connecting two buildings of four and six stories.  The buildings are at 90 degrees to each other, with the curving lobby making the first grand impression. The simple palette of materials compliments the sculptural building forms and includes sandstone complimented with metal panels and aluminum framing with high-performance glass.

Stippich Design collaborated with Cottonwood Partners, Sage Realty Services, Architectural Nexus, and Big-D Construction to develop, design, and manufacture the exterior signage package which included main identification and wayfinding signage, interior lobby art elements including two large scale art feature walls, curved metal benches with planters and security desk housing a building tenant directory, interior signage and wayfinding package, promotional pieces including brochures both printed and formatted for email distribution, email campaigns to ribbon cutting and opening of the Cornerstone I building, branded candy bar wrapper and 8′ x 8′ large format freestanding informative piece about the Cornerstone I & II buildings for a Cottonwood Partners sponsored event.

Our collaboration with the various entities began with the art element statement pieces for the interior of the three-story glass lobby.  Cottonwood partners wanted the buildings brand identity to be modern architecture mixed with elements that honored the amazing diversity of Utah’s natural world focusing on the landscapes of Southern Utah mixed with Cottonwood Partners rigorous regard for quality construction and finishing details that reinforce that dedication to quality projects.  Through a diligent process of looking at possible freestanding and wall artistic statement solutions it was settled on creating large scale wall pieces that incorporated both references to and images of the natural world.

Our team relied heavily on David Adams one of our Design Associates and a gifted fine artist to create the painting that would be the essential element in communicating the Cornerstone building’s brand story that from the moment of entry it is going to be full of life, with creative engaging architectural elements and defy expectation.
